My gosh... i have not blogged for 5 months!!! Not being faithful with my blog. 5 months have passed and so many things have happened in my life. Just some brief updates.
1) Started teaching in a secondary school
Challenging...
Work is really challenging, deal with the different stakeholders of education and also coming to see my own weaknesses and sins. A steep growing curve for me and i felt overwhelmed many times. But i see this as a pruning season for me. Jesus is the vine and i am the branches and God is pruning me, cutting away the branches that do not bear fruit so that i will be fruitful. God has revealed many inner attitudes and coming to see my pride, insecurities and unfaithfulness. Walking through these things with God in humility and repentance, knowing that i am one step closer to breakthrough. Relating with students is challenging and its a humbling process of growth too whereby i grow from my mistakes and learn to admit my mistakes and to learn from the different people. Difficult as it may seem as a beginning teacher, but thankful for this season and i see this as an impt learning and pruning period that God is purifying my motives and refining my heart attitudes.
2) ESS
ESS is our church's special service and just when i started school, took on this project of heading the creative arts and assisting ben in ess. Challening period with balancing work as a beginning teacher and my first time serving in ESS and doing creative arts. Interesting experience and i have learned alot and amazed by God's grace upon me, the team and ppl. Thankful to God. So thankful and amaze :) First time serving Ben too and it was a good time of knowing how he works and seeing how we can serve together too. Though there were some moments of tension, but things were quickly resolved when we choose to place God in the center. It's amazing how God can change ppl's hearts, things and turn situations around.
Learning points from ESS:
- Amazed by God and how His hand was with us through the whole process during this period.
- With God all things are possible and when we choose to follow God and trust in Him, He is a God of all possibilities. Nothing is impossible with Him.
- Got to experience how one body and many parts coming together to put up the ESS. Different people with different talents coming together for one purpose and that is to reach out to the lost ones. Putting aside pride and working together in unity.
- The importance of imparting the spirit of serving together right from the beginning and to set the tone and expectations to the people.
These are some of my general learning points. Overall, it is a priviledge for me to serve in ESS, working with the different talents and people. Though it was really tiring and draining and stressful, through it i had breakthrough in my faith, trust and reliance in God. Truly amazed by His grace upon me and the whole ESS. God is amazingly good. I am thankful that i serve a God who is limitless and amazingly good and perfect. It gives me the assurance and courage to continue to walk on and walk through whatever that i faced or is placed in front of me.
