I am in lab now... waiting for my expt to run. Came to lab straight after exams and have been running expts from morn till night. Very tired and draining. Physically tired and also its really boring to be repeating the same procedure again and again. Now i can run experiments without really looking at my protocol and i think sooner or later i can run them with my eyes close. Its really a testing period of patience and finding joy in the midst of all these. I really dun like what i am doing here... its outright boring and dry and i think i m going crazy with the boredom and repetitiveness and the enclosure of this whole place... haha...
So what am i doing in lab to keep myself saint? Praise and worship God and Pray and do planning and reflection while i am running expt... haha... But sometimes can be really tiring and i find myself being drained out and getting a bit moody by late afternoon.
But God is indeed real and has been working in my life. First day i came to lab and persevere to stay and finish up my stuff though i was like super tired and in the end God created an opportunity for me to share Christ with my lab mate from china who's doing his master and phd here. It was a super challenging and refreshing time. He is very intellectual and wanted historical evidence of things and the questions he asked were wow questions. Questions that i ve not encountered before. Dun think i shared very well but i just shared with whatever i know and i have and i felt that the holy spirit was leading me to share with him more and guide him in a certain directions. I was also humbled cause the things i know is indeed limited and i need to read up more :) I shared with him for almost three hrs and i was super refreshed by the time. Refreshed cause he understood more about God and the reason for salvation. He dun mind coming to our church to visit one day and i am glad to be a channel for Christ tt night :) Praying for more of such opportunities but before tt i need to read up more!!!!
After tt were a series of blur events... i left my lab at 10.30pm then i walked to yih bus stop to take bus home then at the bus stop i realised tt i left my wallet in my lab. so walked back to lab and it was abt 10.45pm already. Took my wallet and realised tt it was too late to catch my bus so stayed over in the end. Slept around 3am but couldnt really sleep cause sleeping on the floor was really uncomfortable for me and i drifted in and out of sleep and finally woke up at 8 plus in the morn. Spent the morn talking to mh and michelle and went lab in the afternoon...
Due to physical tiredness and lack of sleep i almost felt myself fainting while i was in lab. But God sustained me after i sat down for awhile. There was once i placed my hand too near the flame and my gloves was already touching the flame, i felt the heat and quickly moved my hand away. My gloves/ hand didn't catch fire and i was like oh my... Thank God for His protection!!! If not my gloves would have caught fire and i would have burnt my hand. Today i was in lab running 3 expts at one shot and there were times whereby i lost focus and was tired and was about to make some mistakes in my expt (such as mixed up samples and wrong labeling) and it was at such times that suddenly i was more alert and check my procedures and realised that if i didnt check i would have made some mistakes without knowing and the results would be affected.
God is indeed with me, watching out for me and over me during this period. Lab is totally not my cup of tea and now i am wondering why God place me here. Not by chance but definitely for a reason, for me to impact some ppl and for me to grow in some areas. Here and there have some thoughts and starting to see some light... will share more when i have make sense of things :)Despite my struggles being in lab, i still want to do my very best in my lab work and living out my identity as a christian. More and more ppl in my lab knows tt i am a christian cause talking to them more and sharing my life with them too... Not sure where God is leading but i am sure that with faithfulness and love, i will and can walk through anything victoriously with Christ :)
